Rishikesh Tourist Attractions
Lakshman Jhula
Lakshman Jhula is the name given to an iron
bridge, rebuilt way back in the year 1939.
Initially, it was a very rickety bridge
that jute has been used by Lakshmana (Lord
Ram 's brother), while crossing the Ganges.
The bridge is located about 3 km from Rishikesh
on the road to Badrinath and Kedarnath.
Ram Jhula
Ram Jhula is also an iron bridge, built
between Shivanand Ashram and Swarg Ashram.
Also known as Shivanand Jhula, it is quite
similar in appearance to Lakshmana Jhula.
Gita Bhavan
Gita Bhavan is a building that was built
a few years ago, just opposite the Lakshman
Jhula. The main attraction of the Bhavan
includes attractive tables and statues,
on the basis of Hindu mythology.
Swarga Ashram
Swarga ashram is the name given to a huge
complex, which houses a number of temples.
The whole complex was decorated with beautiful
statues impress visitors with their crafts.
The complex also consists of eating joints,
as well as souvenirs and other stores.
Nilkanth Mahadeo
Nilkanth Mahadeo is one of the most revered
temples around Rishikesh, located at a distance
of about 12 km. It is located on a hill
above Swarg Ashram, at a height of about
1675 m. It is said that when originally
oozed venom while 'samudra Manthan ', Lord
Shiva drank at a place now called Nilkanth
Mahadeo.
Triveni Ghat
Triveni Ghat is the name of a bathing Ghat
in Rishikesh. People go there every morning
and evening to take a bath in the holy waters.
A Maha Arti is also made in the ghats every
day.
White Water Rafting
