Ki
Masjid Moth is located between the park
Uday and lint South Extension Part 2 zone
of New Delhi. An interesting legend is attached
to the origin of the Moth ki Masjid, or
mosque of the lens, India. Nearly 500 years,
it was built by Sikander Lodi. According
to legend, one day Sikandar Lodi has a grain
moths (a type of lentils) to his faithful
minister Miyan Bhuwa as a reward for fun.
The good minister has planted the seeds
carefully year after year until it multiplied
many times he could finally finance the
construction of the mosque. He then travelled
to the sovereign to ask his permission to
build the mosque.
The king was very impressed.
He then laid the groundwork for Masjid Moth
ki itself, which was built according to
the Indo-Islamic style of architecture.
The mosque is small and simple and is deprived
of all or any minarets profusion of decorations
calligraphy and ornamentation that are part
of the traditional mosques. However, it
marks the revival of architectural activity
at the time of the dynasty of Lodi. The
place of red sandstone structure has a small
dome and semi-mesh screens in its windows.
