ISKCON
Temple is located at Hari Krishna Hill,
in East Kailash area of New Delhi. It was
recently built in 1998 and is one of the
largest and magnificent temples of the city.
A fine example of architecture, it sports
'shikharas 'rose to a height of 90 feet
above the ground. The temple has air-conditioned
room can accommodate up to 1500 people.
The art paintings by Russian artists here
represent lives and events related to Hindu
mythology characters like Radha Krishna,
Sita-Ram, Laxman, Hanuman and Chaitanya
Mahaprabhu.
Special sermons and prayer
meeting held at the temple every Sunday
afternoon. Dedicated mostly to Lord Krishna,
the elegant temple was built by followers
of '-Hare Rama Hare Krishna-'worship. One
of the biggest temples in India, it also
enjoys a robot, which was built especially
to adopt and preach 'Gita '. The temple
is open daily from 4:30 to 12:00 pm and
4.00pm to 9.00pm. It is a museum in the
temple, which organizes multimedia shows
to explain the philosophy and teachings
of Ramayana and Mahabharata.
The festival Janamashtmi
(the birth of Lord Krishna) is celebrated
here with a very large scale. It lies between
the months of August and September. Thousands
of worshippers crowd the temple on this
auspicious occasion. The temple is beautifully
decorated that day and enthusiasm of the
pilgrims is on the peak level. It is therefore
worth watching sight. Aarti, Bhajans and
sermons are part of the temple, which ensure
peace in the body, mind and soul.
