Majnu you Tila is located on the Grand Trunk
Road, Timarpur in the region of New Delhi.
This shrine is dedicated to Guru Nanak,
who has sanctified this place during his
visit to Delhi in the 15th century. The
small structure has been expanded in 1980
to greater white marble structure with a
dome cusped. It was also proposed to be
covered with gold leaf, later. It is an
interesting history associated with Majnu
you Tila Gurudwara. According to legend,
a hermit Muslims were accustomed to living
on the mound, during the reign of Sikander
Lodhi.
He used the line of people
across the river Yamuna free. He aspired
to whether the summary of God that local
people asked him 'majnu '. It is said that
he finally attained enlightenment by the
blessing of Guru Nanak and became his disciple
thinking. Since then, his hermitage came
to be known as Majnu you Tila. Piles of
Majnu love for God and his radiant spirit
has finally led to the construction of this
shrine to commemorate him and Guru Nanak.
The Baisakhi, a 'langar 'is held annually
to celebrate the birth of Khalsa.
